- The bot detects images.google as something to check because there are a lot of copyviols from that site ;-) --Filnik\b[Rr]ock\b!? 14:13, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Source of the photos.
I found the photos on this link and because the photos fit the Public Domain for Egypt I added them. I know that the Spitfires that were used in Egypt. Also because that the person that took the photo was most working for the UK or Egypt in the transfer to Egypt. I am looking for a way to keep this photo to be able to use on Wikipedia. Because the only other photos of Egypt Spitfires are the destroyed by the IDF.
- You need to post your arguments about why the photo should be kept on the [[Commons:Deletion requests/File:Egypt Spitfire.jpg|deletion page], not here. Note that you have to convince people that the photo is definitely pd, not that the photo is valuable or useful for the photo to be kept on Commons. The arguments presented above don't do that, (and the link, which gives a credit for the photo, makes it less likely that the photo can be kept - UK copyright expires 70 years after the death of the creator, which means that it certainly isn't pd if UK law applies.Nigel Ish (talk) 20:00, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
Hi Nigel, re File:Felixstowe Fury and Sopwith Camel2.jpg, to my knowledge it will be difficult to prove it is British Official unless someone can find a copy elsewhere, or the book credits the source, unfortunately I do not have a copy (hopefully someone will), but I am in possession of a hi-res copy taken from the original print. Is that sufficient to be in the public domain?Rstory (talk) 09:38, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
- In my opinion, no, but the real place to ask these sort of questions is the deletion request page.Nigel Ish (talk) 18:23, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
