Delete Requests
[edit]Confused since you are listed as non active. Why do you want Forty eight Flitfires at LaGuardia 29 Apr 1941.png deleted? It's historical. File:Unknown flitfire.png is not being used in any article... it was uploaded with nothing pointing to it & not used anywhere. Cubgirl Cubgirl4444 (talk) 16:42, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

For someone who is "no longer active on Wikimedia Commons" you sure have been busy. You want to delete some photos, go for it, I don't give a rats ass. Only the wiki articles will suffer. Cheers. - If you think that a photo is public domain then you should upload it (with evidence - where and when it was first published - was there an author credited etc) as such rather than uploading it as your own work and claiming copyright for yourself.Nigel Ish (talk) 10:10, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

- If Irbītis is the author, then according to Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Latvia, copyright would be in place until 70 years after death - i.e. 2067. And if Irbītis is the author, why did you claim it to be your own work when you uploaded it?Nigel Ish (talk) 10:30, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- Real date of the drawing is 1939. I saw some copies from the archive and made a photo yesterday. That’s why I claimed it as my own work. Be advised that I made photo from the copy. I don’t know where is an original and who is an author of the copy. For information, Irbitis many years ago left Latvia and was living in Canada. Where he died 23 years ago, as stated in Wikipedia. It is a really unique photo and for sure a world national heritage example. The drawing never ever was published before. Igors Cernovs (talk) 12:37, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
