Commonist licenses[edit]

Dear Odor,

As you might know Wikimedia is currently migrating from the GFDL to cc-by-sa-3.0. Wikimedia Commons is also migrating and we're down to less than 8000 files (started with about 1,8M files) . Unfortunatly this number keeps growing because Commonist contains outdated license templates. You appear to be running Commonist, could you please change the following lines in your license.txt?

{{self2|GFDL|cc-by-sa-2.5,2.0,1.0}} should be changed to {{Self|GFDL|Cc-by-sa-3.0,2.5,2.0,1.0}}
{{self2|GFDL|cc-by-2.5}} should be changed to {{self|GFDL|cc-by-3.0}}
{{self|cc-by-sa-2.5}} should be changed to {{self|cc-by-sa-3.0}}

Can I also fix the images you have already uploaded by adding {{cc-by-sa-3.0}}?

Thank you very much, Multichill (talk) 12:20, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Yes, please fix them, thank you. I'm completely new to wikimedia commons and therefore kinda clueless about how to do that myself. Anyhow, I just edited my license.txt, so hopefully this problem should be solved for the future. ʘᴅoɾ (talk) 09:14, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
Ok, thank you! I changed your uploads. Multichill (talk) 10:50, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Request for Images of the result of Grand Prixs[edit]

Do you can watch Formula One ? If yes, can you make the result of the Singapore Grand Prix. Your pictures are very good and if you make this image that I am telling you to do, I will enter these in the 2009 Singapore Grand Prix and promise you that I will make my best to enter your pictures in all of the Grand Prix report articles. User of Wikipedia-Wild mineTalk

Post the images in User Talk:Wild mine in Wikipedia.

Yes, of course. I'm painting and uploading ALL Grand Prix results - Singapore GP will be no exception. You will find the pictures (shortly after qualifying and race have finished) in the proper category. In case of the GP of Singapore this is . (German Grand Prix: ; Chinese Grand Prix: and so on...). Greetings ʘᴅoɾ (talk) 10:24, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Do you have plans to do the other seasons and racing of F1? Lispir word is power 16:48, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

If you're speaking of these season charts:
Of course I intend to add the final results of 2011, 2012 etc., too. But I don't think I will paint earlier seasons in the near future. That's really time consuming, you know.
Oh, and I'll upload the individual race results from 2004 to 2007 if I find the time. -- Oᴅᴏʀ (talk) 07:12, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Why do you make F1 illustrations in png format and not in svg? I think it would be easier.. No?

I'm not completely sure why you think so? The hardest part for me is to first paint the overhead view pictures of each car. The rest is just copy and paste. I don't think painting (vectorizing) would be much easier in svg. -- Oᴅᴏʀ (talk) 18:33, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

Start Belgium 2015[edit]

I noticed that "2015 11 BEL Start.png" has an error, Raikkonen is not sixteenth, is seventeenth has this the penalty.

Best regards -- 21:35, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your hint. But are you sure about that? I just checked several sources and can't find any evidence for Raikkonen starting from P 17? Look here, for example: , -- Oᴅᴏʀ (talk) 14:33, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Startings grids[edit]

I have the project to F1 items at the same level as those of the 2010s and wanted to know if you help me by doing your map starting grids so on you want.

To be honest I don't understand what you mean. What kind of project are you working on and what do you want me to do? Greetings -- Oᴅᴏʀ (talk) 14:35, 18 June 2016 (UTC)

Sorry i'm French so I speak very badly so I rephrase. I am trying to redo sections of Grand Prix in the French Wikipedia section, I started from 1996, and I noticed that you were a "computer model" of the starting grid and I wanted to know if I'd help to make these better products by making your models of the 1996 starting grid and the remaining years of F1.

I think I already made all starting grids from 2004 to 2016. And you would like to add 1996 to 2003, right? I use these templates for my grids:
cars 1996:
cars 1997:
cars 1998:
track for 22 cars:
track for 28+ cars:
Could you build the starting grids yourself if I gave you all my car templates from 1996 to 2003? I'm not sure if I can find the time to build them myself. But if you could do that - that would be great.
Greetings -- Oᴅᴏʀ (talk) 18:36, 18 June 2016 (UTC)

I want to try if you explain how you do.
-- 08:50, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

I hope this picture explains it:
I simply use Microsoft Paint. Open the track picture (Start22.png). Then open the cars picture (1-Gridcars1999.png) in another window. Then copy one car (Ralf Schumacher's Williams) and paste it onto the track (in position 5).
You have to make the purple background transparent. That is the hardest part if you never tried that before.
And some F1 seasons had 24 cars, others had 20 cars - so you also need to build track pictures for 24 and 20 cars.
Greetings -- Oᴅᴏʀ (talk) 11:54, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

RE : startings grids[edit]

After hundreds of tests, I still have not managed to make the starting grid. Unless a video, I think I can not do.

Do I count on your help-- 17:09, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

Can you paint me a picture to explain to me how I can make such a video? Just kidding. :-)
Okay, I just made the starting grids for 1996:
When I find the time I will also build seasons 1997-2003. Check the relevant Wikimedia categories during the next few weeks.
Greetings, -- Oᴅᴏʀ (talk) 16:32, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

Thank you very much.-- 20:00, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

RE : startings grids[edit]

Hello Odor,

I still wanted to thank you for your work and I qualques remarks (not critical).

I saw in some grids qualifications, some disqualified drivers did not appear, while Sainz (Monaco 2015), Vettel and Ricciardo (Abu Dhabi 2014) are.

And could create a racing grid.

cordially —Preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) 09:17, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

Yes, I was never sure how to deal with cars that are starting from the pit lane. Maybe in the past I sometimes put them in last place on my grid and other times I left that place empty.
You are probably right. In the cases you mentioned I should not have included Sainz, Vettel and Ricciardo in my grid picture. I think from now on I will do as you suggested.
Greetings -- Oᴅᴏʀ (talk) 07:54, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello Odor,

No not really, we in France, we use the two grids. First with the qualifying time and another after penalties and / or the rule of 107% (rarely used today compared to the past). Your model is the right just as the gates 1996 and 1997 excluded the drivers do not appear, it could be or not?

And when the race grid that to be a third gate or all the drivers who started not showing up?

cordially -- 09:08, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

Is it a good idea ??

cordially -- 17:47, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

The FIA ( is the most reliable source here. For each Grand Prix the FIA publishes the official qualifying result and the official starting grid. According to wikipedia's rules I have to stick to whatever the reliable sources say. That's why I will try to only use the FIA's official qualifying result and starting grid from now on.
Greetings -- Oᴅᴏʀ (talk) 12:59, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
