Vector menus[edit]

Andy, they can probably be done better by someone far more knowledgable than me about js and css but these work to bring talk, watchlist and contribs out of the dropdown menu; w:User:Nthep3/vector.css and w:User:Nthep3/vector.js. You'd just need to substitute your won user name for mine.Nthep (talk) 13:21, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

Commons, Talibs and some meta thoughts[edit]

Hello Andy,

First I thought of replying in Commons:Village pump#"Lock your accounts, redact your Afghanistan pictures", but then decided to "Talk to Andy" first.

It is ironic, as in 2020 the same author had been advising, at the same forum: "you can [still] find out who they are", "a lot of jerks ... are simply stupid", "Archive everything. This is really important. ... Go ahead and use archive.is to MAKE SURE HE CAN’T GET AWAY WITH IT AFTER HE DELETES" [formatting in original], "it’s information you can glean from trying to log into their ... account from incognito mode", with even more specific doxxing instructions and actions at the same URL - I do not provide these it on purpose.

She even intimated violence: "kick his ass, Sea Bass" [with even more expressive formatting and meme, you can check the source] and more.

Let me come up with the right idiom: what is good for goose is good for the gander? (Nomen omen, as per the source, as gender is much involved). Live by the sword, die by the sword, i.e. ξιφοδηλήτῳ, θανάτῳ τίσας ᾇπερ ἦρχεν (c)Aeschylus?

More to the point: IMHO it is a topic for Meta and maybe for Trust and Safety, and not Commons as such. Do reply here or ping me there, if you decide to move the forum.

@Yann: A particularly silly thing to do, given that in the very act of uploading it I tagged it with {{speedydelete|1=Undelete in 2025}} and then immediately added it to the relevant category. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:16, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
Hi, To do things properly, either create a DR or add manually the file in the page Category:Undelete in 2025. Otherwise, nobody will know that it has to be undeleted in 2025. Sorry, I didn't see that you did the later. Regards, Yann (talk) 14:24, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
That was "doing things properly" - it is the regular procedure used often, and until now without such drama. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:00, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
