File:Hygiea imaging SPHERE.png

[edit]

Hi, you uploaded the File:Hygiea imaging SPHERE.png, but the license you have furnished is wrong. Please, substitute it with this one: {{ESO}} and specify the authorship as here. Otherwise the picture will probably be delated. Bie. --Harlock81 (talk) 12:46, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Harlock81: Done, thank you! Renerpho (talk) 16:00, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

commons:overwriting existing files

[edit]

If you have an update, it is not appropriate to overwrite an existing file with an update and then request a rename. The original file is what it is described to be. The linked page should provide the required guidance on how to progress. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 23:38, 21 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

The easy solution is to upload the updated version again but named as WTI Price 2019 2020.png . Can there be a problem with that ? TGCP (talk) 00:50, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

File:WTI price between 1 January 2019 and 20 April 2020.png

[edit]

Hi Renerpho! Thanks for the WTI images. I was wondering which price was being measured in this graph. Is it the spot price for WTI? Or some kind of futures contract? Could you add a clarification to the image description? Thanks! - Featous (talk) 21:23, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

They are daily closing prices. I added the data source. Renerpho (talk) 21:28, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Featous: Just to let you know, I have now changed the data to "daily spot price", for two reasons. Firstly, this is cited more often; secondly, the previous data source seems to have technical problems with handling negative prices (they first changed the April 20 price from -$13.10 to $0.01, then removed it completely). Most of the graph up to the huge drop is unaffected by this, as the values are essentially the same. I also went ahead and changed the image description in the Price of oil article accordingly. Thanks! Interesting that the negative price broke your source. Best, Featous (talk) 16:56, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Autopatrol given

[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Abzeronow (talk) 16:03, 29 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for updating this file! However, it needs a bigger update, see e.g., [1]! Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 12:32, 16 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Mike Peel: These are included.[2] Renerpho (talk) 12:37, 16 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
Aah, I see, I forgot this was using the year of discovery rather than the year of announcement. :) Thanks again for keeping this updated! Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 12:51, 16 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
No problem. We're actually discussing that very question right now. I'm creating a second plot. Renerpho (talk) 12:52, 16 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
