Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
Hello Martin, I wanted to ask you why you deleted the image. There is no copyright on Shri Mataji's pictures; in particular, this image is freely distributed since many years. Please, let me know. Silvanasono
- There is a copyright unless the copyright holder (photographer) waived the rights granted to him by the copyright law automatically, this likely will require written evidence. Distributed over years, visible all over the internet etc. is not an argument that matters on Wikimedia Commons because it does not make the image free. See COM:PRP. --Martin H.
