Image Tagging Image:British_Isles.svg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:British_Isles.svg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use cc-by-sa-2.5 to release it under the Creative Commons or PD-self to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. Hi, thanks for changing 언 to 말 in your logos. But I think the 말 letter in the revised English logo is a bit crooked; could you update this, please? Thank you very much.. :) --Kjoonlee 18:59, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Changes to Image:Bottleneck.svg
[edit]Hi, I hope you don't mind that I made a few modifications to your image Image:Bottleneck.svg.
- flipped the image vertically: most nations in the world drive on the right side
- added arrows to indicate the direction; I was first confused about the image due to the left-handed traffic
- centered the road vertically to avoid spurious transparent pixels at the top
- removed spurious "floating" taillights just over the cones (without a car)
Thanks for your contributions! -- intgr [talk] 02:13, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
Image deletion warning | Image:BSicon uLUECKE.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file. |

Hi Smurrayinchester,
I thought I might take a look at the problem with the SVG sign... looking at the source there seemed to be a reference to the castle bmp which might have caused RSVG to panic and stop. I removed it, and it renders correctly! If you don't mind, I'll put up a deletion request for the png. ButterStick 08:04, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit]I find it difficult to believe that you are the copyright holder of this work. It has no copyright holder, and is ineligible for copyright. Therefore, why do you state that you are the author and copyright holder who has released the image to the public domain?
I would suggest a simple PD-ineligible template. --24.6.103.162 04:51, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 02:03, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Map of beer consumption per capita
[edit]I just updated the list of countries by beer consumption per capita with 2010 data. Your map from 2006 is still the image for that page, but it's based on earlier data so not entirely in step with the list. How easy would it be to update it with the new data?Jbening (talk) 18:23, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Requesting public domain tag for File:WiktionaryEn.svg
[edit]Hi, I noticed File:WiktionaryEn.svg consists of simple shapes and letters, and may be more properly tagged PD-ineligible instead of CC-BY-SA. Would you be willing to make this change? This would allow the image to be used unlinked, resolving an accessibility issue (see en:Wikipedia:Alternative text for images#Links and attribution). Matt Fitzpatrick (talk) 12:16, 2 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Matt Fitzpatrick: I have transferred the intellectual property of that image to the Wikimedia Foundation - you'd have to bring it up with them. I am not against the change though. Smurrayinchester (talk) 12:30, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

German Coronavirus data - mistakes
[edit]Hi, there appears to be mistake in the data for the northermost federal state. There is no indication anywhere that more than two people are infected. Still, you indicate at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:COVID-19_Outbreak_Cases_in_Germany_Kreise.svg that there are infections in Segeberg, Lübeck, Pinneberg and Lauenburg. That is too much! All the best, --Trinitrix (talk) 17:39, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
- All changes in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg were done by me and every single one of them is sourced. Ninety Mile Beach (talk) 20:04, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
- A summary can be found in [1]. That article lists: Kreis Pinneberg, Kreis Segeberg, Kreis Stormarn, Kreis Herzogtum Lauenburg and Lübeck. Ninety Mile Beach (talk) 20:06, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hi NMB: your are right, the changes are sufficiently sourced, thanks. I have updated the file description to reflect the fact that your use of the sources goes beyond what is currently incorporated into the previously mentioned sources of the graph - i.e. the deWP articles. All the best, --Trinitrix (talk) 22:33, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, there are some more inaccuracies listed on the discussion page of the German article (cf. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diskussion:COVID-19-F%C3%A4lle_in_Deutschland#Kreiskarte). Could you update the map accordingly? Thank you very much. --Kokp18 (talk) 16:26, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
