Kansas Department of Transportation maps[edit]

You appear to be manually putting speedy deletion tags on each file from the Kansas Department of Transportation maps. However, a user has asserted that they received public domain verification from KDOT for these: see this comment. If you believe they should be deleted, this should probably be done with a single mass deletion request instead of separate violation tags for each file. --Closeapple (talk) 20:52, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Don't know why I didn't do that in the first place. Just me being a moron as usual. TCN7JM (talk) 20:58, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
For what it's worth, the deletion discussion ended up at Commons:Deletion requests/Archive/2006/03#Maps in Category:Maps of counties in Kansas, and the result was Keep. If you still want to do a mass request, I might be able to mass-convert all those {{no license}} tags to {{delete}} for the files A-M that you already tagged, once I know what the page for the deletion discussion is (or remove the tags if you want to withdraw the deletion). --Closeapple (talk) 21:03, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
I still think they all need to be deleted. They're free for distribution, but KDOT still has them copyrighted. –TCN7JM 21:11, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
Deletion page is up. I'm still pretty sure they're copyrighted. –TCN7JM 21:37, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
OK. I did a mass-add/change of the deletion tag to all the files you listed in Commons:Deletion requests/KDOT Maps, to save you some manual work. You'll still need to do the talk notifications and all that I guess. --Closeapple (talk) 21:58, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
The guy hasn't made a Commons edit since 2008. I don't have time to do it right now, but I'm wondering if it's even necessary. –TCN7JM 22:15, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
OK, I did it for you. He not only uploaded the files but provided the KDOT e-mail. Better to make sure and notify a user for the record, than for the user to pop up later and complain that 100+ files he already saw kept in 2006 got re-nominated behind his back until deletion succeeded. --Closeapple (talk) 22:36, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Dear TCN7JM,
Thank you for contributing to Wiki Loves Monuments 2013, and for sharing your pictures with the whole world! We would like to ask again a few minutes of your time.

Thanks to the participation of people like you, the contest gathered more than 365,000 pictures of cultural heritage objects from more than 50 countries around the world, becoming the largest photography competition to have ever taken place.

You can find all your pictures in your upload log, and are of course very welcome to keep uploading images and help develop Wikimedia Commons, even though you will not be able to win more prizes (just yet).

If you'd like to start editing relevant Wikipedia articles and share your knowledge with other people, please go to the Wikipedia Welcome page for more information, guidance, and help.

To make future contests even more successful than this year, we would like to invite you to share your experiences with us in a short survey. Please fill in this short survey in your own language, and help us learn what you liked and didn't like about Wiki Loves Monuments 2013.

Kind regards,
