There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Tip: Categorizing images[edit]

Hello, TTTNIS!
Tip: Add categories to your images

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

Uploadwizard-categories.png

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images and other files on Commons must be under a free license and should be useful to the Wikimedia projects. To allow others to use your files, some additional information must be given on the description page. Most importantly:

 • Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
 • State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another Wikimedia user, link to the person's local user page. Best to use CommonsHelper.
 • If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
 • Add a copyright tag - images without an appropriate license tag will be deleted.
 • Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories, so it can be found by others. To find out where an image belongs, you can use CommonsSense.

If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki. Use CommonsHelper.

It is recommended to use Template:Information to put that information on the description page. Have a look at Template talk:Information for details of the use of this template.

You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file.

Please add as much information as possible. If there is not sufficient information, the file may have to be deleted. For more information, follow the Commons:First steps guide. If you need help or have questions, please ask at the Help desk.

Thank you.

File:INFINITI_ESSENCE.jpg[edit]

Commons-emblem-issue.svg
File:INFINITI_ESSENCE.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Uploading images from Flickr[edit]

I had to repeatedly tag images you uploaded from Flickr for Speedy deletion as they used a noncommercial, nonderivative or a combination of both license types. Neither of them is compatible with Commons:Licensing. To avoid these problems in the future please

 1. Verify the license on Flickr is compatible with Commons
 2. use the Flickr upload form
 3. always tag images from Flickr with Flickrreview to have those images checked by a bot or human reviewer

Thank you. --Denniss (talk) 10:57, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'm sorry for my ignorance. But, File:INFINITI ESSENCE.jpg (2nd version) and File:INFINITI ESSENCE rear.jpg was not under cc-by-nc-nd but was under cc-by-2.0 when I uploaded them. It is certain.
(I'm Japanese and my English may be bad) --TTTNIS (talk) 12:46, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
A license change is often seen when free images from Flickr appear on multiple sites, users noticing this often change their original license to a more restrictive one. That's why we have the verification system to be sure the images were freely licensed on the time of upload. AFAIR Flickr is violating the Creative Commons License if the allow users to add additional restrictions after releasing them with a free license, a free CC license is non-revokeable. --Denniss (talk) 13:09, 10 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi TTTNIS, rather than uploading a different image over the top of File:NISSAN BLUEBIRD SYLPHY G11.jpg (I know they are both yours), you should probably upload it under a new file name. If you could re-upload the latest version, that would be appreciated. Thanks. OSX (talkcontributions) 07:27, 27 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The same can be said for File:NISSAN X-TRAIL T31 rear.jpg. OSX (talkcontributions) 07:37, 27 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I wouldn't like to edit Wikipedia to change the images so many times, and the old version is not good image.
If you would like to use the old version, please re-upload the file by yourself. They are under public domain.--TTTNIS (talk) 07:41, 27 March 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Hi, may I please ask you to stop adding huge notes like this. I don't know why you want to discourage people from using this version of the file, but they are free to use whichever they want, and I think pointing to the alternate version in the Other versions field is enough to make users aware of its existence. Your warning sounds like there is something wrong with this file, which is not the case. After you tried to overwrite the file, and then get it deleted, I find your behavior more and more disruptive. Please understand that it is not your file (it belongs to the community) and don't make me take stronger actions against you. I will revert your edit one last time. –Tryphon 14:49, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Why disruptive? Is it needed by anyone? Of course I know it is not mine, it's in the cc-by-2.0, but I'm very sorry that there's no flexibility.--TTTNIS (talk) 13:06, 8 September 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well, if no one needs it, then the big warning is useless, and if someone needs it, the big warning is disruptive because it tells them not to use this file. Either way, the warning should be removed. Providing an alternative in a neutral way is much more constructive. I hope you can see the difference. –Tryphon 13:11, 8 September 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Photo request for 2010 Subaru Outback (Japan-spec)[edit]

I hope that the new Legacy Outback is available and I was wondering if you could upload photos with attention given to the front of the car, which is different than the North American version, and if possible, images of a vehicle installed with ja:G-BOOK and/or the Macintosh stereo. A Ruby Red Outback with the 3.6R engine would be especially vauled, if available, including interior photos. Domo in advance (Regushee (talk) 21:01, 8 November 2009 (UTC))Reply[reply]

I uploaded File:Subaru Legacy Outback.jpg, a photo of Legacy Outback 3.6R. And G-BOOK is installed in cars like Toyota SAI.--TTTNIS (talk) 09:17, 9 November 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thank you; would it also be possible to upload 2010 Subaru Legacy from Japan? Currently only two images are available, a white wagon showing both the front and back. No JDM sedans are yet available, just North American. Could interior photos also be included of the Legacy? Domo in advance (Regushee (talk) 23:48, 9 November 2009 (UTC))Reply[reply]

If I get a chance, I'll take pictures of the sedan version of Legacy, "Legacy B4". The interior photo of Legacy Sedan is File:Subaru Legacy B4 interior.jpg.--TTTNIS (talk) 13:40, 10 November 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Please don't remove Category:Akiba-kei from File:ITA-car.jpg[edit]

Hi, TTTNIS. You have repeatedly removed category from File:ITA-car.jpg, but this media is uploaded for Category:Akiba-kei. Please don't remove Category:Akiba-kei. best regards, --118.8.34.76 22:58, 8 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Are there any rules that we mustn't change categories? I don't think so, and the category I added, Category:Itasha, is categorised into Category:Akiba-kei. The picture is of Itasha, and I thought that it's better to change categories.
You wrote that it's a sample image uploaded for Category:Akiba-kei, but are there any evidence of it? I couldn't find it as it isn't used any pages.--TTTNIS (talk) 02:14, 9 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

what did you mean by "According to source" as speedy-rationale for the uploads of User:Peppe kopon 01 ? (I don't read Japanese). --Túrelio (talk) 07:01, 25 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Nissan Y30[edit]

Hi TTTNIS,

Do you know whether this image of a Nissan Y30 series is a Cedric or a Gloria? This example was sold in Japan originally and brought to Australia as a grey import (it has Japanese bonnet/hood-mounted side-view mirror mountings). If you could specify the year(s) and trim level as well, that would be great. Regards OSX (talkcontributions) 04:08, 6 October 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

This is 1985-1987 Nissan Cedric or Gloria. As the front turn signals are of Cedric and the grille is of Gloria, I can't tell whether the car is Cedric or Grolia, as far as I know. But I think it's Gloria whose turn signals were replaced.--TTTNIS (talk) 10:26, 6 October 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you. It seems as though the hubcaps are the same as this Cedric. OSX (talkcontributions) 10:42, 6 October 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Toyota Celica GT-Four in Japan[edit]

Toyota Celica GT-Four (ST185)

Hello TTTNIS, Just curious how many Celica GT-Four (ST185) are still alive in Japan? I have visited Japan many times & only seen 4 of them years ago. I know not a common sight, but did you see at least once in a month? Celica21gtfour 16:49, 26 March 2012.

Hello. In Japan, I seldom see Celica GT-Four ST185 and don't see it as often as at least once in a month. Probably I see the car once or at most a few times in a year. Thank you.--TTTNIS (talk) 16:06, 27 March 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

UD American trucks[edit]

What am I? UD80? Condor?
And me?

I know "UD Condor" isn't a perfect name for the US/Export model of the 3rd Nissan Condor, but what else do we categorize it as? In the US it was sold as the UD 1800, UD 2000, UD 2300, UD 2600, UD 2800, UD 3000, UD 3300. In South Africa it is sold as the UD60 / UD70/ UD80 / UD85 / UD90 / UD95 / UD100. In Hong Kong it was also sold as a UD, I don't know which names were used.

The only unifying name I can find is "UD Medium Duty Range" - not particularly poetic, but at least it's true. Any thoughts? mr.choppers (talk)-en- 12:39, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Nissan Diesel changed its name to UD trucks in 2010. Category:UD Condor is categorized under Category:UD trucks, so I think models after 2010 (with new UD badge) should categorized under UD - categories.
As there a lot of names for UD (Nissan Diesel) models, it is rational to categorize in Japanese names temporarily. In Japan, UD Condor is model after 2010 and Nissan Diesel Condor is model before 2010. We can identify them by UD badge.--TTTNIS (talk) 14:23, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Important message for file movers[edit]

Commons File mover.svg

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

 • To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
 • To perform file name swaps.
 • When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Questions regarding this right should be directed to administrators. --Majora (talk) 21:36, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
