There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

RIAN categories[edit]

Hello, please do not remove Category:Images from RIA Novosti needing categories if you add something in files by RIAN. Here you added only one category, that was not enough. A chance should remain that other people walk thru and add further categories; so the Category:Images from RIA Novosti needing categories should remain in file until it is sufficiently categorized. Thanks, - A.Savin 21:16, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Do not revert me. I don't think you need to ping so many users. Yann (talk) 09:18, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

This is overboard, and your "pings" do not work anyway. Blocked for 2 hours. Yann (talk) 09:57, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
You really need to listen. I already told you that 1. it is not appropriate, 2. it doesn't work anyway. Yann (talk) 20:17, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

File:КПСС.svg[edit]

КПСС has never had any emblem or logo. --KVK2005 (talk) 06:26, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

  • КПСС has never had any pin or badge for it's members. --KVK2005 (talk) 20:28, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
  • what is it than? - answer is: I don't know. Once again: КПСС has never had any official pin, or badge, or another symbol for it's members. There was Member ticket only. --KVK2005 (talk) 10:15, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
  • Возможно, по-русски Вам будет понятнее: не фантазируйте, пожалуйста. Устав КПСС не предусматривал никаких членских значков. --KVK2005 (talk) 06:15, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
@KVK2005: I wrote, "A party pin of the CPSU"... A means one of many. The CPSU hadseveral party pins and had several party symbols. That you can agree with it. I did not say it was the only one or the official one. --Trust Is All You Need (talk) 10:58, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
The CPSU hadseveral party pins and had several party symbols - it's fantasies. "Kakiye vashi dokazatelstva?" (c) Red Heat --KVK2005 (talk) 17:26, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
{{replyto|KVK2005)} A quick search for CPSU party pins proves this.. I'm pretty sure its something... Its probably a fantasy pin, with the use of an iconic Lenin photo, which was used in several pins.... In any case, this obviously was something; File:Pin of the Flag of CPSU.png (it looks real to me)... And it looks like a pin/badge - what else would it be? ... The reason I'm adding a description is that I'm currently nominating en:Central Committee elected by the 16th Congress of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) at English WP to FL. One of the reviewers asked me to add a description. "A party pin" is as close to reality we are going to get. It needs to say something. --Trust Is All You Need (talk) 20:11, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
One more time: all of that artifacts aren't "party member pin". It is souvenirs, or commemorative things (include File:Pin of the Flag of CPSU.png; any "Flag of CPSU" isn't known too, surprise), it was mass produced in USSR, and any other descriptions presented in network are someone's private opinion. withdrawing nominations for deletion[edit]

Hiya TIAYN!! Simple to withdraw nomination, just type {{Withdraw}} and a reason and the system will take it from there. Cheers! Ellin Beltz (talk) 15:35, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

File renaming[edit]

Look at the Commons File renaming policy, especially the section Which files should not be renamed, please. The uploader can always rename the file back -- when the uploader would like to have his own file in his own language.
But it is good to add the en description inside the file, for example like in this File:Доклад С.Зубатова о I съезде РСДРП.1899.jpg. When there is an english description, you can easily find it in the browser.
Have a nice evening :-) Wieralee (talk) 14:44, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

Soviet Union[edit]

Please see en:Category:Political parties in the Soviet Union --Butko (talk) 07:49, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

@Butko: What's you're point? A Member of the Communist Party of Ukraine was a member of the communist Party of the Soviet Union, and therefore the Members of the Communist Party of Ukraine should be a subcategory of Members of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union...--Trust Is All You Need (talk) 08:28, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
For example, en:Ivan Tovstukha is member of Communist Party of Ukraine but not member of Communist Party of the Soviet Union because he was died in 1935. For example Igor Rustamyan is member of Communist Party of Ukraine but not member of Communist Party of the Soviet Union because he was born in 1978. For example, en:Alexander Tarasov is communist of the Soviet Union but not member of Communist Party of the Soviet Union because he is member of en:Neo-Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Foe example, en:Viacheslav Chornovil is politician of Ukrainian SSR but not member of Communist Party. --Butko (talk) 08:58, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
@Butko: We have the category (again wrongly titled) Category:Politicians of Ukrainian SSR for the non-communists... This category should stay. Ivan Tovstukha died in the 1930s and was a member of the communist party of the Soviet Union and the communist party of Ukraine (darn he was head of the Secret Department and was Stalin's personal secretary)... Igor Rustamyan should then be in the category Category:Members of the Communist Party of Ukraine (the Soviet and post-Soviet parties have the same category since the the party itself, the KPU, believes the dissolution of the KPU in 1991 was illegal...)... Alexander Tarasov should be in such a category, but he wasn't (and only legitimate members of the CPSU were in the category which begs the question... reestablish the category when we actually have cases of commons images of communist dissidents.. currently we have none as we know of, or at least none of who was categorised in that category...) --Trust Is All You Need (talk) 09:03, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
@Butko: ... Tovstukha was a member of the en:Central Committee elected by the 17th Congress of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks)... --Trust Is All You Need (talk) 09:30, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
