Thank you for participating in Wiki Loves Monuments 2013! Please help with this survey.

Dear Wingerham52,
Thank you for contributing to Wiki Loves Monuments 2013, and for sharing your pictures with the whole world! We would like to ask again a few minutes of your time.

Thanks to the participation of people like you, the contest gathered more than 365,000 pictures of cultural heritage objects from more than 50 countries around the world, becoming the largest photography competition to have ever taken place.

You can find all your pictures in your upload log, and are of course very welcome to keep uploading images and help develop Wikimedia Commons, even though you will not be able to win more prizes (just yet).

If you'd like to start editing relevant Wikipedia articles and share your knowledge with other people, please go to the Wikipedia Welcome page for more information, guidance, and help.

To make future contests even more successful than this year, we would like to invite you to share your experiences with us in a short survey. Please fill in this short survey in your own language, and help us learn what you liked and didn't like about Wiki Loves Monuments 2013.

Kind regards,
the Wiki Loves Monuments team

Thanks for uploading File:Grand Ledge Clay Products.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the OTRS system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Chosing next month's theme (September)[edit]

Hello Wingerham52,
we decided some months ago to invite the challenge winners to help us decide the themes for the next month needing themes - in this case September.
If you are ready to help, I just started the section September themes on commons talk:Photo challenge, where you can post your suggestion / decide which of the posted suggestions (e.g. from the other winner or me) you like best. If you are looking for ideas, here's a list of suggestions that are waiting to be chosen, but you are welcome to propose another theme.
Best wishes, --Anna reg (talk) 07:53, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello Wingerham52,
I answered on my talk page. --Anna reg (talk) 06:25, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
Hello Wingerham52,
I posted your suggestions insects and fossils on the Photo challenge talk page, where we are discussing next month's themes. If you'd like to give some further input, it would be great if you could do that today or tomorrow, as I'd really like to have the themes ready tomorrow evening - giving us time to organise the page creation and the translations.
Best wishes, --Anna reg (talk) 11:44, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Categories and sub-categories[edit]

  • Category:Michigan -> Category:History of Michigan -> Category:History museums in Michigan -> Category:Michigan Heritage Park . I made Category:Michigan Heritage Park for your pictures. --Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:54, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
  • I'll help you on learning how to Categorize your pictures.
  • Here are your uploads.
  • Look at the very bottom of File:St. John's Episcopal Church - Mt. Pleasant.jpg and you will see categories that someone else put in for you. This is a typical example how all your pictures should be placed into correct categories - with at least 1 category for each picture. More categories even better.
  • Here are my uploads. Look at the bottom of any of my pictures to get an idea how pictures should be categorized.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 11:42, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

Michigan cathedrals[edit]

Hi. I see you have uploaded several photos of churches, mostly historic, in Michigan. I have been working to get photos of the Catholic cathedrals in the US. Among others, we need St. Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral in Gaylord and the Cathedral of Saint Augustine in Kalamazoo. If you are near those places in the near future, could you photograph them and upload the pictures? I realize you may not live near them, and I realize they are not near each other to begin with, but if you are near to them at any point I would appreciate your help. Thank you for considering this request. Farragutful (talk) 01:07, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

that's not ivy[edit]

Hello Wingerham52,
the photos you uploaded to the photo challenge "Windows" do not show ivy, but a plant called "Virginia creeper" (Parthenocissus quinquefolia). Best regards from Germany and good luck for the challenge! --Maimaid (talk) 09:46, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
