Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates in Kourion, Cyprus. Parts of the sanctuary date from the 7th and 8th century BC, but red polished ware found in the area date to the 23rd or 24th century BC. Romans greatly expanded the sanctuary in the 1st and 2nd century AD, but the 365 Crete earthquake destroyed the sanctuary, and it was abandoned. 34°50′52″N 32°48′32″E / 34.847711°N 32.808767°E / 34.847711; 32.808767
