Description
English: HMS 'Revenge'
Inscribed by the artist, lower right, 'Revenge'. This battleship was launched on 29 May 1915 and completed on 24 March 1916. She is shown reaasonably accurately here, at anchor from off the port quarter, as she was in early 1918 (before April) with deflection scales on 'B' and 'X' turrets and a range clock on the mainmast searchlight tower. The intended location is likely to be Scapa Flow.
