Carl Bernstein (born 14 February 1944 in Washington, D.C.) is an American investigative journalist and author who, along with Bob Woodward at The Washington Post, did the majority of the most important news reporting on the Watergate scandal which led to the resignation of U.S. President Richard Nixon in 1974.
