Deutsch: Hythe ist ein kleiner Ort an der britischen Südküste in der Grafschaft Kent, nahe Folkestone, der als Gründungsmitglied des Städtebundes Cinque Ports bekannt ist. Der Name „Hythe“ oder „Hithe“ stammt aus dem Angelsächsischen und bedeutet in etwa so viel wie Landeplatz oder Hafen. Heute gilt die Ortschaft als ruhiges Plätzchen und Erholungsgebiet sowohl für Briten als auch für Touristen. Mit einem Anschluss an die Romney, welche die kleinste öffentliche Eisenbahn ist, und an regionale Züge sind diverse Städte wie Brighton, Canterbury und ferner London gut zu erreichen.
English: Hythe is a small coastal market town on the edge of Romney Marsh, in the District of Folkestone and Hythe (derived from Sheep Way) on the south coast of Kent. The word Hythe or Hithe is an Old English word meaning Haven or Landing Place.
