Citadel of Salah Ed-Din

Formerly known as Saone, the Citadel of Salah Ed-Din is an ancient fortress in modern Syria. The site was first used by the Phoenicians, and later by the Byzantines and Crusaders before being captured by Saladin in 1188, from whom it takes its present name.
