Il restauro è stato completato a inizio estate. Il sovrintendente Umberto Broccoli dice alla radio che il crollo è colpa del gelo e delle piogge dell'inverno. Il passante si chiede chi ha collaudato il restauro...
English: Rome, restoration at the Pincio. The image depicts the wall along the winding road climbing from Piazza del Popolo to the terrace on the Pincian Hill.
On the right, one can see a relief, whose restoration works ended at the beginning of the summer 2012. On the left, is clearly visible a vertical and deep chink in the cladding made of bricks, neglected by the restorers. On 22 August 2012, the cladding near the crevice will collapse for 9 meters in length. The photo was taken on 21 August, i.e. the day before the wall collapsed. The superintendent Umberto Broccoli, head of the Cultural Heritage board of Rome, laid the blame on the frosts and the snowstorms that raged in Rome during the previous winter. |
