For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Espenhain, Braunkohleveredelungswerk ADN-Waltraud Grubitzsch 13.7.90 Bez. Leipzig-Dreckigstes Dorf Europas- Aus den Schloten des Braunkohlenveredelungswerkes Espenhain ziehen seit Jahrzehnten ätzende Staubwolken und Gasgerüche über das Bornaer Land. Das benachbarte Dorf Mölbis errang in den letzten Jahren bereits den traurigen Titel "dreckigstes Dorf Europas". Ab August soll der Umweltsünder Nummer eins erst einmal "dichtmachen". Die Mölbiser hoffen auf eine bessere und saubere Zukunft.
