Mit der Machtübernahme durch die Hitlerregierung begannen die Jahre der faschistischen Diktatur in Deutschland, die Jahre des Terrors

Progromstimmung gegen Kommunisten, Sozialdemokraten und andere antifaschistische Kräfte, das waren die ersten Auswirkungen der Hitlerdiktatur. Bereits im Februar 1933 entstanden die ersten Konzentrationslager. Auch eine Reihe sozialdemokratischer Funktionäre wurden im August 1933 von SA-Schergen verhaftet und in das Konzentrationslager Sachsenhausen bei Oranienburg verschleppt. Unter ihnen waren - auf dem Foto von rechts nach links: Kurt Magnus, Hans Flesch, Heinrich Giesecke, Alfred Braun, Friedrich Ebert und Ernst Heilmann.
