Summary[edit]
DescriptionTornesch Alte Post.jpg |
English: Tornesch (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany) - Esinger Straße 2 - Former Post Office - Year of Construction: 1906 - Photo 2008
- The building of the former “Kaiserliche Post” was built in the style of historicism in 1906. The client was the first postmaster Johannes von Helms. He lived upstairs, on the ground floor were the office rooms rented to the post office. - It is a two-storey house with a side risalit and partially converted attic. The building is adorned with ornamental masonry of brick, which is loosened up by plaster surfaces. Some subsequent changes were made: the original entrance was facing the street on the left side of the building. It has been partially bricked up and replaced by a window. Also, the porch on the ground floor right is not original.
