Summary[edit]

Description
English: Commemorative medal "Medal Pamiątkowy za Wojnę 1918-1921" for war 1918-21. Instituted by Government Decree of September 21, 1928. Awarded for service with a unit participating actively in military operations against soviet Russia in the war of 1918-1921. Medal was given to: soldiers with more than 3 months service; volunteers with 2 months; non-combat personnel with 5 months, all wounded or injured in war and civilians who aided the army. Description:
  • Badge: bronze medal 35 mm of diameter. Obverse: a crowned eagle with the Order Virtuti Militari on its breast and the years 1918 : 1921 on both sides. Reverse: an inscription POLSKA / SWEMU / OBRONCY (Poland to Her defender) in a circular oak wreath, wrong tape.
  • Ribbon: 37 mm garter blue with black side stripes (colors of Virtuti Militari), claret side stripes flanked by white (colors of the Cross of Valor) and blue edges.
