| Description |
English: "Ken, it's 7:30!" Taken in Union Street, Portsea which backs onto St George's Beneficial School. The house in question belonged to our caretaker, now sadly gone to the great storecupboard in the sky. Unlike most caretakers, he could not rouse himself to unlock the school. And so, every morning, as the most junior member of the staff I was deputed to go and knock his door. Eventually, after a lot of rattling he would emerge saying "Why do you lot need to be in so early? School doesn't start until 9 O'Clock". 20 years on, I still haven't got an answer. |
