Summary[edit]

Description
English: "Old Highway", Camowen, Omagh. The journey by King James's army in this direction would have taken them in the direction of the Crevenagh Road, near Omagh. It is reported that a messenger came to tell the king that the siege in the Maiden city was over, and they had started to go back but then another messenger came along later to say that the siege was still going on, so they kept going. The logistics of getting men, animals and heavy guns must have been tremendous as they had to cross the Camowen river as they proceeded. 611378
