Description

Parthénon Bidon (1980-1991) Oeuvre de l'exposition "Travaux" d'Etienne Bossut (1946-) Moulages en polyester, quatre éléments Collection FRAC des Pays de la Loire Château d'Angers

L'oeuvre de cet artiste, constituée de moulages gris de bidons ordinaires, est censée faire référence aux colonnes du grand temple de l'Acropole en ruine. Elle est installée, dit le cartel, à l'emplacement de l'ancienne salle du palais comtal (Xè-XIIè siècle) lui-même ruiné. Tout est donc faux (bidon) et c'est ce décalage entre passé et présent, entre monument historique et environnement urbain contemporain, entre réel et factice, que rechercherait l'artiste.


L'exposition est présentée dans le cadre de l'opération "Songe d'une nuit d'été" organisée en partenariat avec le FRAC Pays de Loire, Poitou-Charentes et Centre, en lien avec le parcours "Iles urbaines" de la ville d'Angers.
