Ελληνικά: Ενα πολύ φωτεινό πέρασμα του Διεθνούς Διαστημικού Σταθμού απο την Αθήνα το βράδυ της 3ης Αυγούστου 2014.Με μέγιστο ύψος περίπου 85 μοιρών (από τον ορίζοντα) και διάρκεια περάσματος 4 λεπτών ήταν το φωτεινότερο αντικείμενο στο ουρανό , ορατό ακόμα και απο τις πιο φωτορυπασμένες αστικές περιοχές της Αθήνας.
O ΔΔΣ λόγω του μεγάλου του μεγέθους αλλα και της υψηλής ανακλαστικότητας της επιφάνειας του (κυρίως λόγω των φωτοβολταικών στοιχείων του) γίνεται ορατός όταν περνά πάνω από περιοχές στις οποίες ο ήλιος έχει δύσει πριν το πολύ 3 ώρες ή πρόκειται να ανατείλει σε λιγότερο απο 3 ώρες. English: A very bright pass of ISS over Athens at 3 Augoust 2014. With Max height of about 85 degrees (from horizon) was the brightest object in the night sky for 4 minutes of its pass , visible even from the most light-polluted areas in Athens.
ISS is still visible after 1 or 2 or even 3 hours after sunset or before sunrise (at the areas that passes during this time) mainly because of his large size and the reflective surface of its photovoltaic elements. English: ISS over Athens |
