Русский: Когда диатомит измельчают до определенного размера, микроскопическая внешняя оболочка из частиц диоксида кремния становится острой. Эти частицы "разрезают" наружный хитиновый слой насекомых, вызывая их гибель. Таким образом, уничтожение вредителей происходит совершенно нетоксичным образом. Поскольку вред насекомым наносится физически, а не химически, вредители не могут выработать устойчивость к диатомиту. В то время, как кизельгур смертелен для насекомых, он совершенно безобиден для человека и животных, так как не может повредить упругий верхний слой кожи. |
