Українська: Вивченням слідів механічних впливів, зокрема на кістках, займається наука трасологія. Сліди на кістках від надрізів крем’яними ножами та бронзовими (або залізними) – суттєво відрізняються. В неоліті використовували уламки кременя та вироби з нього, щоб зрізати м'ясо зі здобичі. Зазвичай, такі надрізи – часті та неглибокі, що добре видно на фото. Мешканці ранньонеолітичної стоянки Черкаська-ІІІ ловили та вживали в їжу болотяних черепах, м'ясо яких зчищали з кісток та панцирів. Окрім того, що завдяки трасології спеціаліст може визначити, чим саме були нанесені пошкодження, інколи можливо встановити матеріал знаряддя, яким саме чином та з якою метою це було здійснене.
English: The science of trasology studies traces of mechanical influences, in particular on bones. Traces on the bones from incisions with flint knives and knives made of bronze (or iron) - significantly different. In the Neolithic, flint fragments and articles were used to cut meat from prey. Usually, such incisions are frequent and shallow, which is clearly visible in the photo. Residents of the early Neolithic site of Cherkasska-III caught and ate marsh turtles, whose meat was cleaned of bones and shells. In addition to the fact that, thanks to trasology, a specialist can determine what exactly caused the damage, it is sometimes possible to determine the material of the tool, how and for what purpose it was done.
