العربية: استقلاب السيستين داخل الخلايا. عادةً ما يترك السيستين الليزوزوم عبر السيستينوسين عن طريق بروتين السيستين (الأسهم الصفراء). تسبب الطفرات في جين CTNS تراكم السيستين في الجسيم بسبب خلل في السيستينوسين (الأسهم السوداء). يتراكم السيستين ويشكل بلورات داخل الليزوزوم. يستحث السيستامين تفاعلًا كيميائيًا ينتج عنه سيستامين- سيستين وسيستين. يخرج كلا الجزيئين من الليزوزوم متجاوزًا بروتين ناقل السيستينوسين (الأسهم الخضراء). مقتبس من المرجع.
