ไทย: กลุ่มคริสตชนวัดสามเสน เป็นกลุ่มของคริสตังญวณที่หนีการเบียดเบียนศาสนา ในประเทศอันนัมเข้ามาในประเทศไทยพร้อมกับกองทัพไทย ที่พระนั่งเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวทรงส่งไปสู้รบกับกองทัพของพระเจ้ามินหม่างเมื่อปี1834 พระยาวิเศษสงคราม และพระยาณรงค์ฤทธ ิ์ โกษา นายทหารชั้นผู้ใหญ่ในกองทัพ ซึ่งเป็นคาทอลิก ได้กราบทูลขอชาวญวณคริสตังเหล่านี้ไปชุบเลี้ยง พระเจ้าอยู่หัวทรงมีพระทัยเมตตา ต่อพวกเขาที่หนีร้อนมาพึ่ง พระองค์ได้พระราชทานที่ดินซึ่งอยู่ติดกับวัดคอนเซปชัญให้พวกเขาสร้างศาลาใหญ่เป็นที่อยู่อาศัย พร้อมทั้ง พระราชทานเครื่องอุปโภคบริโภคให้อีกเป็นจำนวนมาก นอกจากนี้ยังทรงพระราชทานทรัพย์ส่วนพระองค์ให้ สร้างโบสถ์หลังหนึ่ง เพื่อใช้เป็นที่ประกอบศาสนกิจ โบสถ์หลังนี้สร้างด้วยไม้ไผ่ในปี 1835 ใช้ชื่อว่าวัดแซงต์ฟรังซัวซาเวียร์
