中文(繁體):「台東蘇鐵是在地球經過多次大變動後,留下來的一種古老的「活化石」之一,發育至今約一億四千多萬年。珍貴的野生台東蘇鐵由於常遭人濫伐、盜採,使得數量急速下降,目前在野外已非常少見」(ref:https://conservation.forest.gov.tw/0000120)

English: It is one of the ancient "living fossils" left over after many major changes on the earth. It has been around for more than 140 million years. The precious wild Cycas taitungensis has been decimated rapidly due to frequent deforestation and pirate harvesting. At present, it is very rare in the wild. Photo taken in campus of National Chung Hsing University, Taichung, Taiwan.
