[edit]Description草嶺古道虎字碑拓本.jpg |
中文(繁體):草嶺古道虎字碑拓本(魏清德舊藏),桃園市大園區青峰里(橫山庄赤牛稠)
English: Tsao-ling Trail is located between New Taipei and Yilan, part of the Tamsui-Kavalan Trails. The Tiger Stele is located close to the highest point of the trail. According to the folklore, Liu Ming-deng, the Taiwan Division Commander in 1867, was traveling north along the trail but was stopped by a storm. In an attempt to weaken the wind, Liu wrote the character hu (tiger) using a stalk of silver grass as a brush in cursive script. He then turned this character into a stele, which came to be known as the Tiger Stele. |
