Summary[edit]

Description Cet ascenseur a été construit en 1901 par Raúl Mesnier de Ponsard, ingénieur portugais d'origine francaise, influencé par Gustave Eiffel. Avant l'incendie de 1988, il permettait d'accéder directement au quartier du Chiado. Ce passage, qui a été longtemps fermé pour travaux, est désormais rouvert. On peut faire une pause au café situé sur la plate-forme supérieure, à 32 mètres au-dessus de la rue, pour profiter de la belle vue sur le Rossio et la Baixa.
