Description
English: CWGC gravestone for Reginald Bristow who was a stoker 1st class in the Royal Navy and served aboard HMS Bacchante. His service No. was K.47221. He was the son of Charles and Alice Bristow, of Fox Common, East Ruston. He died on 21 February 1919 at the age of 19 years. His grave is in the churchyard of Saint Mary’s parish church in East Ruston, Norfolk. 13 ratings of HMS Bacchante died in the Spanish flu pandemic between 10 February and 23 March 1919. It is possible that Bristow died along with the 12 other shipmates from this cause.
