Description

Caros amigos, Hoje, publico o terceiro lote de fotos relativas a Elvas, e com elas vamos entrar na cidade pelas “Portas de Olivença”, situadas na parte Sul das muralhas. Tratam-se, efectivamente, de duas portas, que temos de ultrapassar para entrarmos na cidade muralhada. A primeira porta, no exterior, constituia um sério obstáculo à entrada do inimigo na fortificação, podendo ser fechada mediante a sua elevação através de duas fortes correntes em ferro, como podem observar. Ao elevar-se a porta ficava a descoberto um fosso largo e algo profundo, que dificultava, naturalmente, a entrada dos invasores. Para atingirmos a segunta porta, temos de avançar alguns metros, atravessando a ponte do grande fosso da muralha e entrarmos R. de Olivença. As fotos n.ºs 55, 56 e 57 respeitam a cenas registadas antes de entrar na cidade. Hoje podem ver também um vídeo com Paco Bandeira, cantando ...
