Deutsch: Kap Hoorn, die auf 55o58` Süd und 67o16` West gelegene Landspitze auf der chilenischen Felseninsel Isla Hornos ist der südlichste Punkt Südamerikas. Von der 450 Meter hohen Landmarke ist die Antarktis rund 800 Kilometer entfernt. Die Umrundung des Kaps gehört zu den gefürchtetsten Schiffspassagen.
English: Cape Horn, the headland on the Chilean rocky island of Isla Hornos at 55o58` south and 67o16` west, is the southernmost point of South America. The Antarctic is around 800 kilometers away from the 450 meter high landmark. The circumnavigation of the cape is one of the most feared ship passages.
