Description
Deutsch: Die Bundesstraße 258 führt zwischen Monschau und Roetgen für rund 3 km über belgisches Territorium. Das gelbe Schild mit der Aufschrift „Belgien“ ist der einzige Hinweis für Autofahrer, da es keinen Anschluss an das belgische Straßennetz gibt. Allerdings beträgt die Höchstgeschwindigkeit hier, wie in Belgien üblich, 90 km/h.
English: The German Bundesstraße 258 leads through Belgian territory between the municipalities Monschau and Roetgen. The small yellow sign saying “Belgium” in German is the only notification of this matter, as there is no connection to the Belgian road network along the three kilometres. However, the speed limit is 90 km/h (56 mph), corresponding to Belgian law (instead of 100 km/h or 63 mph in Germany).
Nederlands: De Duitse Bundesstraße 258 voert tussen Monschau en Roetgen voor ongeveer 3 km over Belgisch grondgebied. Het gele bord met het opschrift „Belgien“ is het enige teken dat de automobilist hierop wijst, er is namelijk geen aansluiting op het Belgische wegennet. Desondanks geldt hier een snelheidslimiet van 90 km/u (zoals in België gebruikelijk) i.p.v. de 100 km/u die men in Duitsland gewend is.
