תיאור: הקסטל (הר מעוז) - משלט חשוב במלחמת העצמאות על אם הדרך לירושלים, כיום משמש אתר הנצחה לקרבות שחרור הדרך לירושלים, מצפור ואנדרטה לקרבות חטיבת פלמ"ח "הראל".
הערות: הר מעוז (הקסטל) הוא הר בולט בצמוד ומדרום לכביש הראשי בין ת"א וירושלים. גובה הפסגה 790 מ' מעל פני הים. בשל שליטתו הטופוגרפית של המקום על הדרך לירושלים כבר בתקופות עתיקות, הוקם בפסגת ההר מבצר רומי. במהלך מלחמת העצמאות הפך הקסטל לעמדה מרכזית בדרך לירושלים. קרבות עזים התחוללו באזור ובאפריל 1948 נכבש על ידי חטיבת הראל.
