Description
English: Kalgi is a village in Chittapur taluk, Gulbarga district. It is about 35 kilometers east of Gulbarga city near the Telangana-Karnataka border.

Kalgi village was once much bigger and a major Deccan city in and before the Western Chalukya era. It hosted many Hindu and Jain temples such as the Siddheshwara temple built in 11th to 12th-century CE.

The Siddeshwara temple is one of the Kalgi group of temples. It is from the Shaivism tradition of Hinduism.
