Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: 143, Fore Street, Exeter. Built 1716-1717, "the finest C18 house remaining in the city" (Cherry & Pevsner), with its fine chequer brick, quoins and projecting bay. The much later shopfront below may rather spoil the effect but makes the whole building very distinctive. No 144, next door to the right (up the hill), is yet older behind its C19 facade. |
