In Weibern gibt es zwei katholische Kirchen: Die alte, im neugotischen Stil 1888 bis 1892 erbaut, und die neue Kirche , die am 1. Juli 1973 zu Ehren der hl. Barbara geweiht wurde. Die alte Kirche ist eine der wenigen neugotischen Kirchen in der Diözese, die ganz erhalten geblieben ist. Die neue Kirche wurde erbaut, weil die alte Kirche bald zu klein wurde für die Gemeinde. Der Sinn der neuen Kirche kam aus der Zeit nach dem 2. Vatikanischen Konzil: Es sollte in der Kirche alles vermieden werden, was an Prunk erinnert.
