English: Adolf Lesimple, most likely born 1828 in Cologne (1828–1910), was managing director of the (Langen/Lesimple-Family-owned) "Langen'sche Buchdruckerei" in Cologne, but engaged more and more in publishing. Together with Albert Ahn senior (1840–1910) he started "Ahn's Verlagbuchhandlung", at first in Brussels 1864, later the publishing house moved to Cologne. Adolph Lesimple, later Adolf (with f!) Lesimple, startet Newspapers like "Kölner Local-Anzeiger" (in 1858) oder "Echo des Siebengebirges" (in 1867). Many books were published by him, on a wide range of topics, but the official publisher's names changed. One can find "Ahn's Verlagshandlung" or "Ahn's Verlag" (Cologne) or "Habicht'sche Verlagshandlung" (Bonn) or "Faber'sche Buchhandlung" (Mainz) oder "L. E. Lanz Nachfolger", Inhaber Ad. Lesimple, in Weilburg or "Adolf Lesimple's Verlag" in Leipzig. Lesimple took over, when and where former owners died. Cologne, Bonn, Mainz were the important cities for him. But the name of Adolf Lesimple in connection with books or bookprinting or bookshops/bookselling or newspapers etc. can also be found in Boppard, Bornhofen, Königswinter, Saargemünd, Weilburg. He appears to have been an very active and enterprising man, but possibly a somewhat unsteady person. His brother August Lesimple (1827–1909) was a bookseller in Cologne and a quite well known author on topics of music (we wrote for example about Richard Wagner). – The above Death notice was printed in "Kölnische Zeitung", 22.4.1910.
