Summary[edit]

Description
English: 1972 AMC Javelin AMX, a muscle car made by American Motors Corporation (AMC). Originally a sports GT-type two-seater from 1968 to 1970, the AMX name was used from 1971 to 1974 on the top high-performance model of AMC's Javelin "pony car". This car has the "401 Go Package" that includes AMC's 401 cubic inch (6.6 L) 4-barrel V8 engine with cold air ram induction from the AMX's fiberglass hood with cowl scoop. This car was the official Utica-Rome Speedway pace car. The facility is located in Located in Vernon, New York (Oneida County). The facility had a drag strip, as well as an Asphalt Charger/Street Stock and Asphalt Modified race series. The Utica-Rome Speedway now features a 3/10 mile, low-banked, clay oval, as well as a 1/2 mile, semi-banked, clay oval. Picture taken at the car show on Saturday, July 25, 2015, during the American Motors Owners Association (AMO) annual convention that was held near Cleveland, Ohio.
