Description
Deutsch: 10.07.1985 DDR 6080 [98574] Schmalkalden, Schloßberg: Schloß Wilhelmsburg (GMP: 50.723158,10.455667). Vierflügeliges Renaissanceschloß. 1585-1590 als Residenzschloß von Landgraf Wilhelm IV. von Hessen errichtet. Das Schloß Wilhelmsburg in der Stadt Schmalkalden war eine Nebenresidenz der Landgrafen von Hessen. Die Schloßkapelle gehört zu den bedeutendsten protestantischen Schöpfungen im deutschen Kirchenbau. Innenarchitektur vom Niederländer Wilhelm Vernukken. Korbbogendecke. Stuckarbeiten von 1588. An Westwand erstmals Altar mit Taufe, Kanzel und Orgel übereinander angeordnet. Die Renaissance-Orgel ist eine der ältesten noch bespielbaren Instrumente dieser Art in Mitteleuropa. Sie wurde vom Landgrafen Wilhelm IV. in Auftrag gegeben. Geschaffen wurde sie von Daniel Meyer aus Göttingen. Kapelle 1966/67 entsprechend dem 16. Jahrhundert restauriert. [F19850710A40.jpg]19850710255NR.JPG(c)Blobelt
