| Description |
Deutsch: 10.10.2004 01067 Dresden-Altstadt: Blick vom Postplatz in die Wilsdruffer Straße zur "HOG Am Zwinger", im Volksmund "Freßwürfel" genannt (GMP: 51.051215,13.734325). Im September 1964 erfolgte der erste Baggeraushub. Am Vorabend des 1. Mai 1967 wurde das "Haus der Gastronomie am Zwinger" eingeweiht. Entworfen wurde das Gebäude von Gerhard Müller und Günter Gruner, der Innenausbau von Martin Gersdorf, Wandbild von Wilhelm Gebhardt. Zum Gaststättenkomplex "Am Zwinger" gehörten: - ein Selbstbedienungsrestaurant im EG mit 268 Plätzen; - eine Tanzgaststätte und Bar mit 331 Plätzen im 1. OG; - das "Festival-Cafe" mit 112 Plätzen innen und 60 außen auf der Dachterrasse wurde als Diskothek genutzt. - Vom Eingang Ernst-Thälmann-Straße ging es in den "Radeberger Keller" mit 224 Plätzen im Untergeschoß. 1992 mußte der "Freßwürfel" aus hygienischen Gründen schließen. Das Kellergeschoß war beim Augusthochwasser überflutet worden. 2007 erfolgte der Abriß. Das architektonische Konzept der Zwingergaststätte nahm einstmals in der Baukörperhöhe und der filigranen Fassade Rücksicht auf den gegenüberliegenden Glockenspielpavillon des Dresdner Zwingers. Der Nachfolgebau, ein mehrgeschossiger wuchtiger Klotz namens "Wilsdruffer Kubus" mit Lochfassade, kennt da keine Rücksicht mehr. [DSCN5607.TIF]20042020240DR.JPG(c)Blobelt |
