Description
Deutsch: 22.04.2005 04680 Podelwitz (Colditz), Am Schloß 1-4 (GMP: 51.153088,12.833742): Renaissanceschloß, ursprünglich eine Wasserburg. Erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wurde das Wasserschloß Podelwitz 1487. Das jetzige Schloß ist ein Renaissancebau aus dem 15./16. Jahrhundert, dem 1893 ein Anbau hinzugefügt wurde. Die ersten erwähnten Besitzer waren die "von Schellenberg", das Wappen am Eingangsportal ist das von Ullrich Maximilian von Rechenberg. 1850 geht das Schloß Podelwitz in den Besitz der Familie von Reiswitz, die 1945 durch die Bodenreform enteignet wurde. In der DDR-Zeit waren im Schloß Wohnungen und ein Kindergarten. Das Schloß wurde 1991 durch die Gemeinde mit Unterstützung von Fördermitteln restauriert und als Begegnungsstätte ausgebaut.
