Description
Deutsch: 10.07.2006 01219 Dresden: Palais im Großen Garten (GMP: 51.037808,13.762865). Errichtet von 1678-1683 nach Plänen von Oberlandbaumeister Johann Georg Starcke. Den plastischen Schmuck schufen J. und C. M. Süssner, A. C. Buchau, C. M. Dietze und G. Heermann. Das Palais ist nie als Wohnsitz gedacht gewesen, sondern steht als Lusthaus ("maison de plaisance") inmitten einer festlichen Gartenlandschaft. Im II. Weltkrieg stark beschädigt. Die denkmalgerechte Wiederherstellung der Sandsteinfassaden konnte erst 2001 beendet werden. 2002 wurde das Palais wieder der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht.
