Description
Deutsch: 17.01.2007 01069 Dresden-Pirnaische Vorstadt, Pillnitzer Straße 39: St. Benno-Gymnasium, Blick nach Nordosten. Christliches Gymnasium. Etwa 50% der Schüler sind katholisch, etwa 35% sind evangelisch. Der von Behnisch Architekten entworfene futuristisch anmutende Schulneubau wurde 1996 fertiggestellt und ist ein Zeugnis der Spätmoderne in Dresden. Das Gebäude wurde mit mehreren Preisen ausgezeichnet und gehört zur modernsten und besten Architektur in Dresden. Auf dem Dach ist seit 1996 eine Photovoltaikanlage angebracht. Etwa am Ort des heuten St. Benno-Gymnasiums stand bis zum kriegschädenbedingtem Abriß in den 1950er Jahren die 1874-1878 nach Plänen von Gotthilf Möckel erbaute neugotische Johanneskirche.
