Description
Deutsch: 21.01.2007 01067 Dresden-Altstadt: Dresdner Zwinger, Kronentor von außen (GMP: 51.052701,13.732990), bekrönt von 4 Adlern und der polnischen Königskrone. Johann Benjamin Thomae schuf die Giebelbekrönung. Das Kronentor ist ein Portalpavillon. Das Tor ermöglichte ursprünglich den Zugang von außerhalb der Stadt durch die Festungsmauer. Aus dem Durchgang des Kronentors führt jeweils eine kurze Treppe ins Innere der Langgalerien. Der Zwinger insgesamt ist ein Barockbau, 1711-1728 von Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann. Bildhauerischer Schmuck von Balthasar Permoser und seiner Werkstatt, B. Thomae, P. Heermann und J. Ch. Kirchner (Heute zum großen Teil durch Kopien ersetzt). 1945 schwer beschädigt.
