Description
Deutsch: 01.09.2009 04655 Kohren-Sahlis (Frohburg), An der Burg: Burgruine Kohren (GMP: 51.019313,12.600438). Die Burg Kohren hat gleich zwei Bergfriede. Die runden Steintürme sind die einzigen Bauten, die sich im Burggelände erhalten haben. Kohren gehörte seit dem Jahr 974 zum Besitz der Bischöfe von Merseburg. Sicher ist, dass die Herren von Kohren im 12. Jahrhundert eine Burganlage errichteten. Weil die Burgherren einen Aufstand unterstützten, zerstörte Markgraf Dietrich der Bedrängte 1220 die Burg. 1454 gelangte Kohren mit dem Vorwerk Sahlis an die Familie von Einsiedel, die den Herrensitz nach Sahlis verlegte. Die Burg wurde nicht mehr bewohnt und verfiel zur Ruine. Das Burggelände ist frei zugänglich. [DSCN38675.RIF]20090901045DR.JPG(c)Blobelt
