Description
English: Schreierstoren is an old central defense tower that used to be part of a central point of Amsterdam's city wall. The tower was built around 1487 on the corner of the IJ and the east side of the city.

Schreierstoren is listed as a Rijksmonumen (National heritage site of the Netherlands).

Currently, Café de Schreierstoren is located on Geldersekade in Schreierstoren along with a nautical theme bookstore.

Nederlands: Schreierstoren (Treurtoren) is een oude centrale verdedigingstoren die vroeger deel uitmaakte van een centraal punt van de stadsmuur van Amsterdam. De toren werd omstreeks 1487 gebouwd op de hoek van het IJ en de oostkant van de stad.

Schreierstoren staat vermeld als Rijksmonumen (Nationaal erfgoed van Nederland).

Momenteel is Café de Schreierstoren gevestigd aan de Geldersekade in de Schreierstoren samen met een boekhandel met nautisch thema.
