Summary[edit]

Description
English: Emergency escape ramp on Misiryeong Penetrating Road, located at the middle of a downhill before Tollgate. It enables vehicles that are having braking problems to safely stop.
한국어: 긴급제동시설(Emergency Escape Ramp)은 자동차가 주행 중에 제동장치가 고장날 경우, 자동차의 도로이탈 및 충돌사고를 방지하고 승객 및 차체에 대한 손상을 최소화 하기 위해 급경사의 내리막 길이 연속된 곳에 설치하는 교통안전시설이다. 긴급제동시설에는 바닥에는 자갈이 깔려 있어 사고차량 진입시 속도를 감소시켜 제동을 하게 된다. 미시령동서관통도로의 긴급제동시설은 미시령터널 하행선(속초방향) 출구부에서 톨게이트로 내려가는 내리막길 중간에 설치되어 있다.
